The Val de Loire is known as the Garden of France and it is very easy to make it you back garden as it is only a one hour flight to Nantes or Angers or a quick 2 or 3 hour drive from the channel ports, super fast TGV trains from Paris also stop in the area.

The area has a lot to offer stunning scenery, quiet country retreats bustling little cities and so much more, being so close a weekend or long weekend break is perfectly practical as is a longer holiday.

Generally speaking France is far more child friendly than the UK, there are facilities and more emphasis on child or family activities, accommodations such as large hotels and campgrounds are geared far more to attracting families and providing entertainment for children.

France actually has a grading system for facilities that welcome children, they have to adhere to strict government standards and then after inspection are awarded the right to use the ‘Kid Stations’ logo this ensures that safety and facility standards are high at that establishment.

Located in France but within very easy reach of both Switzerland and Italy this stunning mountain range is surprisingly accessible by air to Lyon, St Etienne and Grenoble plus numerous smaller airports, there are several good motorway links into the region as well as the TGV high speed train from Paris to Lyon.

This is an all year tourist activity area geared very much to all kinds of outdoor pursuits in the summer there are walking and hiking trails, climbing at low and high altitudes, canyoning, kite surfing, mountain biking and many other enticements including the vineyards and gorgeous scenery.

Paris is an hour or two from just about anywhere in Europe by air making it an easy choice for many people looking for a weekend break. Of course its convenient location is not the main attraction. ‘Paris the City of Light’ is the attraction unlike just about any other city its sights and culture are common knowledge to millions who have never even been there.

Brittany holidays are very popular tourist destination even for the French people and of course as an international tourist you will also find that there is a big British expatriate population living in this part of France. The popularity of Brittany holidays can be attributed to a large extent on the ease with which this destination can be reached.
