Dalmatia is a very long coastal region of Croatia sitting on the beautiful Adriatic Sea, there are around a dozen larger cities including Zadar, Split and Dubrovnic as well as hundreds of small towns, villages and coastal resorts.

As well as the mainland there are nearly 1200 Islands varying in size from large with cities and many towns to uninhabited islets that are little more than large rocks protruding out of the turquoise sea, the main tourist islands of which there are over 60 include Krk, Brac, and Hvar.

Istria is the largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea and indeed is located partially in Croatia, Slovenia and Italy. The largest part of the Istria region is definitely located within the Croatian country and indeed there are a number of excellent aspects to the peninsula that make it a place worth visiting.

Istria is a place that has a very rich history dating back through well before the Holy Roman Empire and the reason many tourists are attracted to the place in particular is specifically because the history of the Istria peninsula is such that it allows people to take a look at a number of different historical events and extrapolate those events to the monuments and other tourist traps that are available there today.

Dalmatia is a beautiful piece of land in Croatia that stretches from the North Velebit mountain ranges down to the southern contour of Croatia, south of Dubrovnik. Rich in natural splendor, mountains and valleys, rivers, and thousands of islands.
