Lanzarote is a Spanish Island but if you have not been there you may not be aware that it is no where near Europe, it is out in the Atlantic in the Canary Islands much further south than the Spanish mainland lying just off the coast of Africa.

As such its winter temperatures are well above anywhere in Europe and sun is guaranteed making it a very popular spot for tourists escaping the harsh European winter climate, although popular year round it is the balmy autumn to spring weather that brings so many people south.

If it is sunshine that attracts you then you won’t be disappointed and there are also many villa rentals in Lanzarote, that provide luxurious accommodation for anyone interested in finding a place to stay during their holidays. Owing to its unique location, Lanzarote gets sunshine for most of the three hundred and sixty-five days in the year, which makes it a preferred holiday destination.

Lanzarote is most famous for being one of the locations where the movie “Planet of the Apes” was shot. This volcanic region makes it resemble a lunar landscape, and some even go so far as to describe it as being Martian. Be sure to visit Atlantida Tunnel that stretches from La Cueva de los Verdes till seven miles away it reaches Jameos del Agua.
